Feels like winter, where did autumn go?

Project milestones crunch time! This week: Video Monday, Research and presentation Tuesday, Logo redesign Thursday. Next week: Research proposal Tuesday, some group project marketing plan Tuesday, Research and presentation Wednesday.

Hakkasan - Dessert

Red bean blowfish.

Fish Head

Fish heads, fish heads - eat them up - yum!
As you can see, this one was really ugly though.

Cupcakes, Cupcakes, Cupcakes

Cupcakes were baked. A whole crap load.

Our grad fundraising progress seems to moving along slowly. Though there's been a lot of planning and not enough doing. Cupcakes on the other hand have been doing well since it started last year but it'd be nice if our grad year was known for something else rather than good cupcakes. C'mon we're graphic designers, not bakers.

So last Saturday: "Your daughter should get her car waxed [by that acquaintance who's willing to do it for cheap]," said mom. Later that morning, dad's interpretation: "Your mom says you need to wax your car." I ask about the acquaintance guy who would do it, in which he responds: "Do you know how expensive it is? Are you going to pay for it? I know how to do it so why do I need to get someone else to do it?!" Dad forever wins.

Thanks to my mom (as always), my Saturday was dedicated to waxing my car. I am in the white collar field for a reason, Dad.

Richmond Centre Washrooms

Awesome signage.

Mmmm Nap

So I chose a ridiculous appointment time today to bring in my car for her regular maintenance. I usually wouldn't find 9:00am an issue, but having to sleep the night before at 4:30am did make it an absolutely dreadful morning to wake up to. To make up for it (or, more like, giving in to my bodily/mental desires to sleep) I took a 4 hour nap just now.

Hm, I always seem to regret it after napping. It feels like I'm wasting my precious day time.

End random.

Oh, Star Trek was AWESOME. The movie left me smiling at the end. I never noticed/cared/really knew who Chris Pine was until the movie but they made him look pretty good looking. :D Zachary Quinto was quite a cool looking Spock too and I couldn't help but smirk everytime John Cho showed up thinking he'd do something funny. The rest of the cast members were pretty lovable too... NOW MAKE MORE FASTER.

Hello Mid-May!

Now, all of a sudden, it has become almost the end of May. Upcoming random thoughts post.. GO.

- I need to watch Star Trek. This weekend probably.

- Even though I've been a faithful member of NEET for a month and a half, I've finally got a positive response from a potential employer of a job that's completely unrelated to my career path. It makes me deeply miss my graphic design position pay. After calculating the difference, I cried a bit inside. I guess I should just suck it up considering my circumstances.

- About interviews.... I got a phone call interview this morning. I was really unprepared, but obviously I should've been prepared though considering I've been applying here and there. It made me realize I haven't gone through an "official" interview for 3/4 years now. Now it's back to the usual questions: "Why do you want to work for us?" "...! D:?!"

- Anime Expo is roughly a month and a little bit away (WUT!). I must say, the guest line up isn't all that wonderful (a seiyuu or two, or another band besides Momusu, or a mangaka - any would all be nice). There's a lot of power rangers BUT THERE'S NO ORIGINAL WHITE RANGER TOMMY...! Or any other first gens (besides the Black Ranger, I think?)... Oh well, I guess I'll be stalking the exhibitor's hall again, as usual.

- While on the topic of conventions, I completely forgot about our lil ol' local con, Anime Evolution. They bumped up the dates this year but then again, we never seem to remember when it happens anyways. Grats to them for the venue upgrade, but the guest lineup is still quite boring. Maybe the ReBoot creator guy could be interesting... but that's it. Might just stealborrow a badge from someone again then follow to post a complaint on their forum.

- The USD/CND exchange has improved! $1.14 is wonderful news!

- Gas is still $1.04, not so wonderful news!

- I have a bunch of manga-related babble to talk about. Maybe I'll leave that for its own post.

- That newly announced PSP-3001 pack with the FFVII stuff... I was stoked at first until I noticed the PSP IS PLAIN. NO WANT. I knew I should've just bought myself a carnival colour when I had the chance... I shake my fist at the Project DIVA accessory set made especially for the 3000 series, GRR. It's my only reason for getting a third gen PSP. Oh and no glare! PSP under the sun without having to be a beach monster would be wunderful.

- I heard the Richmond Night Market has once again started. Time to make some plans (to food raid and loiter).

- I stumbled across Volks and their M.O.E. Collection earlier line today. I knew them as the FFS model people next to wave but I think only recently did they start making figurines? Their models are pretty decent but they aren't featured in the hobby review sites I visit. The underdogs perhaps?

- There's someone trying to pull me back into MHF. The temptation.........

- While on the topic of games, Shining Force EXA has reminded me of how awesome Diablo is and I/we/theworld needs Diablo III now. Faster please, Blizzard. Starcraft II can wait, really.

- Alright, mind dump complete.

It's funny (...and gross) when you know you've just walked into someone who was just looking at pr0n and the person thinks you didn't know.

February

So it's February. Nothing special, but here's some random.

- Brought Fable II LE to school just as an example to the teacher to show gaming DVD-style packaging. Teacher suddenly got excited that the booklet might be a golden rectangle and ended up penciling on the booklet. My mouth hung open as soon as he did it. Who in their right minds makes ANY sort of markings on ANY booklet that is not ones own??! What if I wrote on your VINYL DISCS huh MR TEACHER? He even questioned me and asked me if he shouldn't if done that or not. TOO LATE! It hurt a lot, but I was able to erase it out a bit... though the mark is still there and the eraser faded a part of the colours. UGH.

- Went to Foggs'n'Suds for the second time ever to have cheap chicken Wednesdays. First time was during, wut, RIP Akacon?

- I need to keep remembering not to sleep in so damn much on the day that I can. I woke up with yet another headache for oversleeping.

- Had one more last dinner with my visiting Aunt with all of my dad's side of the family together. We had to see that least liked Uncle with his bratty kid. Ugh, bratty. That little bugger ruined all the group photos.

- Speaking of bratty children, his other bratty slut child added me on facebook out of the blue. K so I shouldn't be surprised she knows how to spell my name even though she's 8, even though I never see her. A child on facebook at 8 is still a bit early, one would think but that's like what one would think maybe 5-10 years ago. But sigh, in this day in age, they're never too young I suppose. She seems to love twilight too. PG-13 doesn't seem to be much of a concern to an 8-year-old huh.

- Parents went to Las Vegas Tuesday though they're coming back later tonight. Time kinda flew by...

- I am done Fable II, I'll write something on it a bit later.

- I'm debating on starting another RPG on 360 (probably Vesperia or maybe even Star Ocean 4) or finish up (start even?) Odin Sphere while playing Wild ARMs XF.

- I can't believe I sat through two b2b episodes of Paris Hilton's New BFF on TV. I have to admit, it was actually rather entertaining and I'm curious for more.

- The SFIV theme song is so boyband nasty. I hate you EXILE, even more than before.

- PAX registration is up before AX. wtf.

- punBB code is actually more annoying to customize via code than xmb. However, I do like how they have this extension (mod/hack) auto-installation package thing. Still wondering if I should have just went back to xmb.

- I am really hungry. I haven't eaten today... and I'm not going to until I pick up my parents from the airport later tonight.

Tales of Legendia - Aftermath [Music Talk]

It's been a week (well.. no, fine, almost.. at least end of my school week) since I beat the game. I haven't stopped listening to the soundtrack. I think I'm having trouble getting sick of it. Soundtracks usually don't last that many repeats right after you -just- finish the game... well, for me usually anyways (excluding, say, Mitsuda's stuff :b).

GO SHIINA-SENSEI, YOU ARE MY NEW IDOL AND I AM YOUR LATEST FAN YES
but I apologize, you can't beat the greatest Mitsuda Yasunori for the top spot however you're UP THERE! On top of the other underappreciated amazing, Mizuta Naoshi.

While we're on the topic, I thought I'd take the moment to think of my top composer list... (also because I'm itching to type something)

1. Mitsuda Yasunori
2. Shimomura Yoko
3. Uematsu Nobuo (of course he's gotta be up there somewhere)
4. ?
5. Sakuraba Motoi
6. Mizuta Naoshi
7. Go Shiina
#. Itou Kenji (I've lost track of him D:)
#. Sakimoto Hitoshi
#. Mitose Noriko
#. ZUN (Team Shanghai Alice! - k, trying not to limit myself to only RPGs)
#. I've Sound
#. Maeda Jun (key for life! D:)
#. The team that composed Wild Arms XF - I'm LOVING THE OST TO BITS SO FAR

Alright, I ended up failing to list them all in numbered order. There's even a gap! Sakuraba doesn't deserve 4th spot. I don't know who does though.

This post has failed entirely. This calls for sleep.

Search Engines Nowadays

Teacher: "So what search engines are out there?"

Student A answers instantly, "Google."
After a short pause, student B asks, "Doesn't Yahoo have one?"

lol.

Has it been that long since Google has become the mainstream search engine?

Hahaha.. someone buy me this:
http://googlestore.com/product.asp?catid=5&code=GO0125

It's so geeky and cool. XD

Anyways... I bumped into Phyllis and Andy Mak at Oakridge today. They haven't changed one bit. :D We planned an outing sometime next week. Whee~

So at "work" (aka. the boss' house) today... I got paid being bored out of my mind. And drink tea. I don't know what's better or worse: being bored at the office where it's dirty but with internet or clean and comfy but BORED as HELL at the boss' house sitting there doing absolutely nothing. Yes I have a thing for cleanliness. To most, the first option would be preferred but to me... they're both equal. A co-worker of mine feels my pain and is glad he isn't in my shoes (he gets to do the fun yard work and occasionally gets to unload a container or two). Sure I can help with the yard work.. IF I WANTED TO. But I don't want to so :b... I'd bring somethere there to do but to not be that bloody obvious I'm 'entertaining' myself, gameboys and the related are out of the question. I finished everything there is to read that I've yet to read: finished Kill Me Kiss Me, caught up to Ouran Koukou Host Bu and Air Gear... there's really nothing left. I like what I read; I read it fast... that's why there's nothing left. What else is there to do... I think I've been appointed the official BBQer now for tomorrow. Fun. I heard we'll have to go to his house _everyday_ until the strike's over. Goodness, someone... something.... save me. I wish the strike's over... or not. If the strike's over, we'll be flooded with 3-weeks worth of work. The longer they strike, the more work it'll be... but getting paid to do NOTHING right now. But... that's so... D: Nooo, I don't wanna face reality! *runs away from it all*

Back to.. Normal?

Right when I come back from my trip that night, I get a msg from Tony Kiki about Tony C's birthday party the next day. Uguuu, no money and yet I have to go spend some more... Anyways, it was a beach BBQ where there was a lot of charcoal confusion, demands for food and everyone just acting their strange selves.

And no, everything's not back to normal yet. The strike's still (luckily?) in effect and so work's boring as hell. Just today, one of the warehouses nearby caught on fire early in the morning and burned for hours. Apparently there's some sort of ammonia-like chemicals inside the warehouse and now the whole area's gunna be blocked off. We were informed by a police lady sometime around 3 about the situation, so we were told to leave early (in-case it blows up, yeah). I visited my beloved bookstore after work to realize that D'oh, truckers strike, no new Newtype. Instead I went to cancel some of my orders that I already got at AX. Mmmm they weren't really happy with cancelling and were all like "We normally don't allow you to cancel D:" and I'm like ";_; I normally don't cancel (cuz I'm loyal to you guys ;___;).. I'm so sorry ;__;" but yeah.. unhappy they were. They might remember me from now on as the gaijin that cancels orders. So when I was driving home from the bookstore, something fell in through the window (big, brown, spikey maybe, ball-like?) hit me on the head and rolled down somewhere. It disappeared somewhere... I thought it was a friggin bug at first... but even now I still dunno what it is.

So yeah, Sty's version of the CCS Crew group picture. XD I started a trend.

Facking ugly.

If it wasn't for this annoying tension for my interview tomorrow, I'd change it this instant. Oh, the OTC Marathon... I guess I'll have to wait a few more days for bwNET then.

Soooo... I got hit by a heavy cart at work today and now I'm disabled. Well, not as bad as it sounds, but I got a giant bruise with some blood, yup. Still stings though.

I logged into POL today! Since Thurs August 26th 01:49! Only just to send a msg to my bro. :D I wonder if I should play ffxi again though, hn. New POL looks funny....

I got my mp3 player! WooooOoo the packaging was the most annoying thing I've ever encountered. But I lerve it anyways~~ Trying to get used to the earplugs... they slip out. Ear too small = Earphones too big. AND I already filled it up (too much high-quality music.. hm!). I can't stop bringing it everywhere I go too... That phase'll fade soon, I think. :D

I went window shopping in Richmond for the jacket I've been looking for and I found something pretty good except.. IT'S $199! WTF! So nevermind. I'll keep looking.

Need to get my snowboard soon.

Need to pay for ski trip soon.

Yay I love Shinshi Doumei Cross! *adds to must-buy manga list*

Pinky:st's are cool. :D Must get one (or two, or three, or.. more)

More yey, latest Naruto opening r0x0rz. But teh music sux0rz.

The lunar calendar predicted that I'd recklessly spend my money this year. It's so horrendously true.

Turkey & the ETC

Turkey Day comes and goes. Had an official turkey dinner at my aunt's the day before. The children have officially become si lai too. They were FLIRTING with my brother and cousin (both 20 years older), gawd lol. XD Can't wait to see them all grown up. Went out for another turkey meal where I chose not to eat any turkey (@ Milestones). The whole table ordered turkey and got ripped off because they all got dry, hard-to-chew turkey -- not JUICY like they KEPT SAYING. Haaa... Revolving Door = Coolness. Having a conversation with someone from across the table using a cellphone = Amusing. Suzumura Kenichi as Shin Asuka = Saikou. No Kira = Depressing. New layout for guestbook = it's okay.. semi-satisfied. Wow it's already 3, I should sleep.

So.. like...

Iwase's behind on their monthly shipment again. FIST, I want my Newtype...

Cosmetic Night tomorrow... again... fun.

The 390/395T iRiver isn't available in North America anymore, daymn. More like, they've stopped making it! I had my eye on the 790T but the red's really red, so the 795T is a possibility but the price different is yikes. And I just read all about the annoying software bugs (white noise, skipping)and horrible customer service they got too... Maybe I should stop attempting to buy an iRiver instead. Meh I could always go for those HK ones like WeWa!! and Foxda :/ Doesn't feeel the same thoughhhh~

I'm sleepy, gotta get stuff ready for tomorrow and then sleeeep. My internet's really crappy today.
