T'was a good run, 902sh.

5 years and 6 months later, my Sharp 902sh has finally croaked. I've been meaning to get a new phone for the past *cough* year anyway and didn't get more serious about it until the past few months when the Nokia N8 was looking like an excellent candidate. Sadly my phone couldn't last a month or two more for me before I'm able to finalize my decision. Then again, I probably would've just held it off as long as I could.

Clearly the one that's looks like a phone is my phone.

Now I'm scrambling to get a new phone. I'm not particularly a fan of touchscreens but the features on the N8 were really delicious so I was already ready to try something new. I was almost dead set on it until I got word that it's being released here with Rogers. It's definitely great news that Canada's finally catching up with the latest mobile phones though. But as for me... I think my heart's still with my Japanese phones.

I think I've narrowed down my choices but it seems like the mobiles nowadays lean on the hypersim unlock rather than the software. I've been so used to software unlocking that I don't know what to feel about this whole hypersim thing and how it's going to be like. But! I'm all up and ready for an adventure so why not.

My mom lent me her old Sony Ericsson for the time being though. Every time I felt like getting it set up, I turn it on to be reminded that my mom's old data's still in there and then I don't feel like it anymore. Doesn't help that my phone data isn't compatible with my ancient sim card and it's been backed up into a file that the SE can't read. I might just have to get over that soon though since I won't be getting my new phone immediately. I so do prefer starting fresh. :(

*Rant: iPhone/iPod Touch shitty tap games have consumed my mom. :(

November Reality

It's nice that Halloween came and all but that means that November is here. I hear Hell whispering in my ear again...
Domo Straw

My laptop is out of commission. More precisely, either the power cord (which is most likely the problem) or the power plug has broked. The power cord is dead. I was able to cheat it for a few days by angling the cord a certain way so the inner metal touched and charged. Now it refuses it completely. Seems like eventual power cord deaths are a common occurrence. A whole new, official cord will cost a leg but a new laptop will cost me a few legs so I am relieved, though still not happy that the new cord will cost quite a bit.

So this finally came in the mail the other day:
TalesBrigade Loot

This wasn't exactly what I was expecting but apparently my actual loot package got lost(?) or they just never sent it so this was my replacement. I was supposed to get the whole Tokunaga plushie set plus the Tales Vol.2 CD but instead came a [useless] L-size WHITE t-shirt, ONE Tokunaga plushie with its head severed and the Vol.3 CD instead. I thought Vol.3 was the one that was hard to get a hold of? I'm still waiting on that bonus for the Tales of Vesperia CE, which is supposedly the Vol.2 CD. I should go and bother them some more for it.

November means there's really only one month and a few weeks left of the semester (shock). The coming weeks will be brutal... which reminds me, registration was yesterday.

Parents also came back from their crazy cruise of crazy (Turkey, Israel, Ephesus, Greece) today. The past two weeks were pretty nice and peaceful ('sides all the school crap).

I swear I had more to say but now I can't remember.

Fireworks 2009 - Part 1

It's that time of the year again! ..when we sit at the beach for long periods of time (up to 10 hours) under the insanely hot sun of summer (up to 30ish degrees) for a 15 (or was it 20?) minute fireworks display four times a year!

Even though we're only half way through, it's already been plenty eventful.

Wednesday July 22 - Canada
I had work in the daytime so after I headed home first to grab my beach bag before busing my way down to meet up with Moni at the Burrard station. On our walk down we picked up awesome White Spot food and joined up with the rest of the beach bum gang who were already there. There were an insane number of people for a Wednesday evening.

The night seemed to go by pretty quickly. Canada's theme was Wizard of Oz so the songs were basically the famous few vocalized tracks which got everyone singing/dancing but then there was a rather long (and boring) evil witch instrumental track. The sponsors for the event also gave out 3D paper glasses you wore during the fireworks viewing and it sends you to some psychedelic high mode where everything looked so trippy it was as if you were on something ('shrooms?) but then not. Say if there was only one firework in the sky, the glasses would multiply it and make 5 more for you and then rainbowitize it and made sure you didn't miss it by spreading them everywhere. Trippy.

Saturday July 25 - South Africa
All week, the weather people has been constantly warning about the heatwave that is to come. Temperatures hitting as high as 33 and up. So Saturday wasn't that looked forward to. I met up with Saboo at 1pm at T&T so we could possibly do some quick snack/food shopping. The T&T at Tinseltown was rather lacking so we didn't end up just getting a snack for the road. We took Robson this time around, stopped by a Blenz for drinks and Subway for food then continued our way down Denman.

Beach: Before

We got there to meet up with Ruby and D who were already there not so enjoy the wonderful hot weather. We set up camp with the beach umbrellas and tarp we brought and tried not to move as much because of the heat. We expanded our territory as more people joined us and indeed it was HOT.

However 6pm rolled around and the dark clouds we saw approaching earlier began to tower over us and soon started dripping. We (and mostly everyone on the beach) figured the little trickles wouldn't last long since there was no weather reports of precipitation falling at all. The longer we tried to wait it out, the heavier the rain started to get and then it was just beginning to get annoying.

Beach: After

The next thing we knew, the thunderstorm was officially here - above us. The skies were roaring and flashing. The whole beach (and us too) was all like "whoaaa" when they saw the light flicker across the skies. By then, the beach people were all leaving because none of them were prepared for such a downpour. Luckily for us, we had umbrellas so we hung on there even though we were constantly told to not hide under our umbrellas during a thunderstorm. We started standing when it began pouring and stayed staying throughout the fireworks show. There was also a live band performing there during the last few hours of our wait and they made a song about not being afraid of thunderstorms on the spot. When the fireworks started, more people started coming back and began standing in front of us to block more of our view but the night was already sucking enough already so we left them as they were.

South Africa was not bad 'cept, I swear, Pirates of the Caribbean theme song is so overused. The outdoor shower was insanely packed after the fireworks presentation but we waited anyway so we could rinse off our tarp and feet.

On the way home, I noticed that my belongings were soaked all the way through. My PSP. My DS. My phone. Luckily my gadgets were ok. My DS case was soaked in though and I've yet to test my Tetris DS that was soaked in with it. My wallet - luckily only some receipts were wet. My keys - My stuffed Toro was drenched. A pack of tissue which turned into soggy wet naps. Worst of all... my MANGA.

Water Damage

Wet books are unsalvageable. I tried to at least minimize the yellow mold damage by drying it as fast as I can with the blow dryer when I got home then combined that with the weight of my computer tower (which I think is the heaviest thing I could think of that was in my room) but alas, it was no use. I lost sight of the little glimmer of hope when I noticed the pages itself were fraying a bit and the ink was melting onto other pages.

I've had slightly damaged manga before (e.g. me crushing it in my bag due to bad placement) but this is the worst it has gotten and it was unavoidable too. I don't think I can live on without having to get myself replacements. Hm, maybe even the library won't even want these.

PS: Post #777.

So... I dropped my Rolex on the kitchen floor today.

Unluckily it fell on the wrong (or is it perfect?) angle and the sapphire crystal crackled oh so wonderfully. Now I'm going to have to get it fixed which'll set me back a few hundred. Damn.

Onto other news... the crappy rain weather has returned which sucks. I had more to say too but I forget.

Sicked :(

So yeah I'm sick.

Went to bed at 8 yesterday. Slept until I had to get up for work the next day. Scary, 11 hours.

Nose hurts from all the nose blowing.

I blame it on the office for being so damn cold while it's so damn hot outside. They do not understand the concept of regulation.

Backordered Case

I patiently waited two weeks, like they told me to. I didn't receive any response from them within the timeframe so I thought I'd check up on it by sending in a ticket. And voila, I find out that it's being delayed for another FUKING MONTH! So... I'm so very hurt inside right now but I think I will wait after all. I really like the case and even though all my other parts are ready and the warranties are slowly being eaten away by time [and dust], I will wait. Patience pays off as I've learned. I just hope they don't disappoint me further and tell me half way that it's no longer available or something really heartbreaking like that. Ok, I'm going to go cry the corner now, hugging my computer parts.

It Hurts So

The second scrape to my car occured on a sunny but chilly early evening of June 15, 2006. The rim of my back wheel was hit harshly against the curb, stabbing me brutally in the chest as I witnessed the event. So yes, once again, I was not the driver. Fucking dad.

Anyways, the week flew by like it was nothing. Payday next week, I'm happy. The co-worker I mentioned that helped me out to save me from the hell at the warehouse... I'm grateful and everything and I sincerely appreciate his help but damn, he's so bloody annoying. He's an obvious flirt but he sucks at it. He's arrogant and stubborn.. prove him wrong and he says you're mean. The creepy thing is that his desk is right behind me so I'd hear him whisper my name every so often (?!). He'd see what I'd be doing on my computer and he'd be all nosey.. but it's not like I'd tell him though. Then he'd be bragging about something I wouldn't really even care about. I'm trying to be mean to him but he isn't getting the picture to gtfo of my face. :[

You know what else I hate about this job: Swearing. Everyone swears too damn much. And I'm afraid it'll get to me. You know how you talk to someone or hear someone talk too much, you start developing their habits? Yeah... I don't want to start swearing between, literally, every other word. Another thing: Smoking. I'm going to DIE from second hand smoking. They smoke in a connecting room, and it's not like the windows in that room are open or anything so the smoke travels all the way back into the main office area where the rest of us are.

About Telus. Our internet died on us the night before during Escort with my bro. At least I got the important part of my AF Quest done before that. But still. So much trouble calling them... and you know how they always think the user's internet problem is always the norm (e.g. reset router, reboot computer, etc.) yeah, hate it when I get one of those fags on the line for tech support. Yes retard, the problem was actually YOUR END NOT OURS, now go to hell plzkthx.

Okay, this post has been really negative. I'm going to flee now. /flee

Merry Christmas!

Belated! But! Yay Christmas!

December's been quite the crazy month.

We're got so many damn sweets as Christmas gifts at work from the members. I horded all the Rocher. Victory.

Well, I've dropped my phone TWICE on the pavement now. Its one side's all chipped (it keeps falling on that one side)... it makes me cry everytime I see it. I think it's gradually suffering from the side effects now...

Oh, I watched King Kong the other day. Not my kind of movie; I didn't like it.

Christmas Eve dinner was spent eating by myself because of work. ;_; Leftovers of the family's roast beef dinner. At least it was yummy ;___;

Christmas day was unbelievable... I was finally able to go to church after 4 months! The only stores that were open were the Chinese stores and it was *packed*. We decided to go to Aberdeen because of a few other things we had to buy there. The main dim sum restaurant was flooded with people, literally. The wait for a table was an hour plus... not surprised... Soo, we made our way to the restaurant just next to it. Its specialty was hotpot but it served dim sum in the morning. The retail stores there were also squirming with crazy shoppers who wanted the discounts the stores had (for Christmas?). Oh did I mention parking was a bitch? Supposedly you'd think there'd be plenty of room in the Aberdeen parking lot (dude, 3 giant floors of parkade!) but it was so bloody packed (not to mention the swarms of HORRIBLE drivers), finding parking was rather difficult as well. We quickly fled as soon as we did everything we had to do there and headed back to Vancouver. We dropped by this lady's place who sold really beautiful handmade jewelry. She would apparently invite a bunch of guests over at a time to show her display of whatever featured or new jewelry up for sale. Some of the things there were pretty amazing. I picked up a pair of earrings myself! Afterwards, we visited my grandma and grandpa's grave to give our salutations. We headed to my relatives' place for dinner that night. Double roast beef! Well at least both chefs cook the meals differently. After the awsome dinner, I met up with Elie, Simon and Mike to watch Memoirs of a Geisha. That place, too, was crowded. We ran a bit late so all the good seats were already taken. We had no choice but to split up. Then I had to sit with the most annoying girl who gawked, "What stupid people come to the movies with their friends and not sit together?" And I was like.. uh, excuse me... is that directed to me bitch? D:< Well of course I didn't say it aloud to her so I just tried to ignore her for there rest of the movie. The movie was pretty good though... it's a shame I didn't read the book beforehand. After the movie, we searched for a place to chill for burbletea. We watched Leo Koo/Ku (sp? ;[) and his fishnet mask and Andy Lau dancing with his creepy garbage bin lids. [/insidejoke]

My highlighted Christmas presents this year... PSP (to myself, from myself), DKNY bag (from mom, chosen by me and her), $100 cash (from grandpa overseas), and Magna Carta (from bro, picked out and UP by myself -_-; but I have no PS2 right now so I can't play anyways..).. Actually, wait, that's my BIRTHDAY gift cuz I told him to get that for me a ways back and it's finally out now so :B... his actual Christmas gift to me, that I requested, isn't available until January 10th, which is Wild Arms 4. I even got my birthday present planned too! Kingdom Hearts 2 comes out in March, isn't that just perfect? :D The timing's awsome~ <3

Hm! I'm trying to get my hands on a Teal/Purple DS but apparently it's been out since November and yet I've never even seen it anywhere since its release. It's a limited edition colour as well, so I think it has already become a rarity anyway. The Seiken Densetsu: Children of Mana screens are making me itch to buy the DS... Oh well, I've still got time before that comes out here. Maybe some other crazier colours will appear...

Work conditions haven't improved since our meeting. I got this bad feeling that it isn't going to go the way we hoped it'd be...

Ugh I just realized I still got so much backlogged stuff to do.

I'm about to cry

Sigh. ため息。

Yeah, so like.. no phone now.
Long story short... the deal didn't work out. Man, after waiting like... half a month to find news that the guy CAN'T get it (he probably sold it off locally DD;)... Ah well, I shall wait patiently for my next chance at it. I'm determined to stick with my light blue now.

Duude, I saw some guy today with a Vodaphone. Urgaaa, left me feeling depressed after see him with it. I also saw an orange mazda that reminded me of the orange phone I wanted.. LOL! Everything reminds me of it, I swear. Yes, I'm just _that_ desperate for it now.

Man... I've received news that Hot Gimmick is ENDING. Gasp! That must mean there's only one book left... WHAT'S GOING TO HAPPEN コンチクショー!

Getting older sucks. Time flies so fast... you don't have time to do stuff you used to always do. Yeahh, I was just thinking of some new site ideas and old site renovations but nowadays I don't think I have the time. -_-; Always have to sleep early.. or sometimes I'm just too exhausted to concentrate on designing something. Bleh. Just today, feeling too exhausted from the work week I took a nap and that just ate half of my precious day. Yet after napping, I can STILL sleep at night without ruining my own sleep schedule. I guess I'm just that tired.

Something at work bit me. Now I'm paranoid and everything itches. Why is that I can't work in a clean environment? Daiso was(/is) dirty as hell. I had to do the vacuuming at Roots. Then the dentist place is well.. I gotta clean up after the nasty messes so yeah that's pretty bloody [literally] dirty. Sigh. Rantrantrantrant...

So the funny thing about this month... The first 15 days was truly happiness: new phone coming, a sh1t load of manga, everything was good. As soon at the 15th day hit, I found out I couldn't get my phone (and because I won't be getting my phone, my PLANS are RUINED), suddenly my allergies pop out of nowhere, I got cut under my tongue and everything stung like fack for a few days, the Rude Guy from work temp. went to another branch to help out so I was stuck with the little annoying *ahem* fucker for the next WEEK, I PKed down the work stairs, I got bitten(!), the list could be endless... I just hope this 不幸 misfortune doesn't carry on for too long (at least not for 15 days or something ;_;).

Well one thing that was good during this misfortunte period I got to watch BATMAN BEGINS! AND it was a damn good movie! The sfx and music really fit into the right spots~ It felt a little long at times though. I thank Mike for the lovely night. It was a nice change from the nasty work week.

Since I'm not getting my awsome phone... I'm looking for someone with a digicam that can record at least 2-3 mins (the more the better of course) so I can make a proper movie, unlike my out-of-date one that only takes 30secs max. Blah, my precious plans... Thanks Mr. Japanese Guy who sold my phone off to someone else. ;[[

Otanjoubi Omedetou :p

All you can eat sushi for lunch yesterday. Good stuff. :D

Probably a week before, we started to tell people about our "outting" yesterday which consisted of karaoke and hotpot (yaaay). At first, it seemed like a lot of people were willing to go (like always...). Then the day came (friday/yesterday), Tony said he couldn't come, Jenny claimed her other friends had plans, Amy said she didn't know anyone that was going, Jo doesn't like K, Andrew had taekwando lessons, Eleanor had a dentist appointment, Ingrid found out she's grounded, Jon Li's just stupid, Tim said he had church, and blahh to the other insignificant others. And the truth of the majority was actually a lot of bull, that is, bs. I saw Tony, Tim and Simon loitering in the halls afterschool. We overheard them talking about hockey and bbq. When Jenny was walking off with her friends she said (quite loudly) "I wonder what I should do when I get home... maybe play video games."... CHikusho yaro me. o_o;

Ha, and that's only the beginning of it all. I didn't know what to do (wandering back and forth the hallways) so I sat in front of the office and called for Mo2. She came, then Asapin returned then we met up with Alan Li. He was hyper (as always) and excitedly agreed to come. So now we ended up with 4 people, Asapin and Alan went to go get their bags so we followed Asapin to his locker. We packed and sat there figuring out what to do, considering we didn't feel like K anymore with 4 people. We brainstormed stupid ideas like mini golf and movies... and finally came up with bowling (which was an hour later). We bumped into Jeremy and agreed to drive him home so we got going. I also called Alan again, wondering where he disappeared off to, to only find that he was at HOME. -_-;; Anyways, so we dropped Jeremy off and headed over to Silvercity Riverport (which a teacher claimed to be the cheapest place). We got there, looked at the prices and died. Then Mo2 finds out she doesn't have enough for our beloved hotpot dinner. We took a seat at the bowling alley (and became loiterers). We started falling asleep when we thought of the may possible ways to deal with this shortage of money. Sat there for a good half n hour or more I think. Then we thought of the idea to go stalk Andrew at his lessons, since there was nothing better to do anyways. We got to the place and peered in like weirdos to find that he wasn't there, so then we thought he just gave us some more bs (like he would do everytime we tried to go out with him). We grred and went across to Parker. We saw one of those machines where you push coins off the platform to earn them. Asapin was addicted to them so he went and wasted 5 or something bucks on it and didn't earn anything. I tried myself with a 2, and got jack. We disappointedly left, peering back every so often to see who would win. Asapin saw the cellphone he wanted and wanted to get in then and there but didn't want to waste $800 on it :p. We passed by the craziest j-stuff store and spotted an exclusive concert merchandise phone string that caught our attention ($29!!). We hesitated and left, promising to return again. We got to the CD store and spotted Sailor Stars (why? :p) and then we suddenly felt like dying just to get it. They didn't accept debit so we made our way to the bank to get cash. We got the crazy DVD set and sat down at the food court. We gave up on the hotpot and decided to spend the money of the phone string! Asapin got the last black one and I got the white and then ate that crazy red bean ice desert. We had more time to waste so we went to my house, had cup noodles and watched Sailor Stars. :D:D:D:D:DDDD Nehererererererererernia's (can never spell her name? :D) part is soo boring but we had lots of laughs while we watched (things that didn't make sense and stupid comments)... It was around 11 or so when Mo2 got picked up by Boom. Soon after Asapin left too... I was so tired I went straight to bed.

I woke up early today feeling... giddy. :D

Oh, and Jo sucks.

It's been a while since I've been in such a horrible depressed mood. Firstly, a friend indirectly reveals that I'm a total fake in everything. I have no good reason to do what I do, and I look like a fool doing it. Something that little that usually I wouldn't care about, suddenly hit me. Other net friends first crack some jokes that was also indirectly addressed to me. I tried to stay put by trying to joke with them as well. Then I couldn't stand it and I left instead. I'm supposed to be spunky, energenic and a bit queer.. that's what others think about me. I guess they don't realize those who never show that they're weak, are really weak inside.

Why do I bother typing up something this sappy into my blog anyway.... Perhaps it's because I'm almost never depressed... I guess you could say. Geez, I'm so pathetic.
