FINALLY! The partner project is over and done with! The week of the presentation was quite intense: Monday - stayed after our afternoon class and worked until 9pm; it felt about 75% complete. Tuesday - I worked on it throughout class and then continued with my partner for a few hours. When we were "done" we lose ALL the changes on the file since we started (2+ hours worth of work - probably due to the low power the laptop was running on the whole time >_<). She continues to catch up on the changes we did together in her Marketing class. She hands me the 95% completed handout and I finish it later that night. The internet goes down. I end up using my bro's girlfriend's laptop to steal weak 5kbps bandwidth from the neighbour. I finally send the relatively big (considering the wifi speed) through to her via e-mail after 3 attempts, disconnecting and timing out on every try and finish at 3am. Sleep ensues. Wednesday - errands galore. I rush home by 1:30 and makes sure the handout was properly recieved for mass photocopying at her workplace that afternoon. All was well except the powerpoint file would not upload properly to me. Later that night, I finally receive the file and do a major overhaul. It finishes, I send it back later that night. Thursday - She doesn't recieve the file so I give it to her via usb copy I luckily brought. Friday - Presentation. Unfortunately our font didn't work so well on the mac so it didn't show up properly and ended up messing up our layouts. We also last minutely find out that one of the designer's name was spelt incorrectly so we rush to the mac lab to mass reprint the page. The page number mysteriously disappears. Anger. Presentation commences. We finish. We rejoice.
Wednesday afternoon, Sty and I finally went to buy our plane tickets thanks to my constant nagging omg. The price rose up 36 cents since we last checked the price omg XD... So now people owe me major money. At LEAST *cough750cougheachpersoncough*... I swear I should've asked for the money FIRST before getting them. But then if I ask for money first, at this rate, we'd never get ANYWHERE. SO I will sacrifice myself for the better of the team...! Ok, so the day ended up pretty retarded. We started at Champlain, went to Metro for bubble tea, went back to her place after for her bank card, then headed to Richmond to the banks, then went to Daiso for some tape (?!) and then went back to Vancouver for sushi. Super gas wastage GooOO!
300! Went to watch 300 Friday night with Mo2, Shi2 and some SGers. Yay long time no theatre movie. It was pretty good. The magically appearing and disappearing white horse still puzzles me. I guess we'll only get to find out in the DVD when we see the Deleted Scenes. Afterwards we loitered, had gelato (in which 1/3 into my gelato I remember that I can't stand sweet things so I ended up giving it to the other people to finish), and Denny's. Denny's gave us shit service, food, everything. We agreed on giving no tip. (Well I gave a 2 cent tip actually...) Haven't done that in a long time...
Today. Work was dead. Traffic and construction around Oakridge is disgusting. Work is pretty blah... might just drop this one for another offer I'm considering. I'm hestitent only because I'm a lazy bastard and I don't want more responsibilities that come with a better pay... :b But putting things into perspective... it's a good change and I'd be financially better off. But damn, I'm lazy.
