It was Kentarou, Yuuta and Takuro's last night here before their trip back to Japan. They had a goodbye ceremony at the school they stayed at for the past 3 weeks. We invited ourselves to the ceremony, though we purposely went later so we didn't have to watch the whole thing. The school was all the way at Surrey... think the school was called Fleetwood Park, err something. =_= Eleanor's mom's friend Taka did all the driving. He knew the transfer students kind of well and their relatives.
There was a lot of people there, as expected. And of course, the majority were japanese transfer students that were in the same exchange program as the one's we knew. This time, only Eleanor, Viv, Simon and myself went, because there wasn't enough room in the car for anyone else.
It was a somewhat formal party, for the transfer students and the family that they stayed with. The majority of the girls wore kimonos or the kimono-like ones.. what were they called? Started with a Y... anyway, we took a seat in the far back, watching from there. Various things happened, which we didn't really notice much because it was somewhat tedious hearing/watching it.
To end off the ceremony though, all of the transfer students got up on the stage and sang their national anthem and O Canada. ^^ (( I spotted a cute guy on the stage *_* )) After, they did a big clean up job as we discussed what to do afterwards. Our car followed the other minivan car which went to Yuuta and Kentarou's stay home.There was a horrid cat in there. If it wasn't for my allergies, I wouldn't be fussing about it. Anyway, we made our way downstairs and sat around as the others packed up. We bugged Yuuta quite a bit while he was cleaning up, like raiding his room when he didn't want us to. ^^; We taught Takuro a bad phrase in english again~! We taught him: "You Suck!" LOL! ^_^;;;
They were real nice though, they gave us parting gifts: Eleanor got a japanese magazine (o_O), Simon got to keep the toy with the ball thingy ma jiggy, I got a mini wooden slipper and so did Vivan. Forgot the exact name of the toy... we got to play with that at school once. As well, all of us got a sweet smelling paper kimono! ^__^
We went on a taking picture frenze as well... Furthermore, we even got to know the owner of the house a bit. They were real nice people. The funny thing was, they had another international student in the house that came from Australia called Daniel!
It was finally time to leave. It was approaching 10 by then. We gave our goodbye hugs (which was kind of awkward o_o;;) and said bye. Takuro got into the car with us because we had to drive him back to his own home. The four of us had to squish in the back as he got to sit in the front >_<;... In the car, we asked Takuro a few questions about Japan and all just to get to know more. Like we hypothesized, it took us 15 mins exactly to get to the location in Delta. We sadly said goodbye to Takuro too. The ride home was peaceful... though I had a slight headache.
